In Minnesota “parenting time” is the legal term used when defining how much time each parent with have with their children. This used to be called “visitation.”
Entering a Parenting Plan
A lot of parents will enter into what is called a “Parenting Plan,” which can either be incorporated into the Judgment and Decree or issued as a separate Order. In the State of Minnesota, the parents may submit a parenting plan to the court. As long as the court finds the parenting plan to be proper and beneficial to the child, the court will accept the agreement and record the parenting plan as a legal document of the court.
